ENGL 4254
Eighteenth-Century Literature:

Telling Stories

Mr. Radcliffe
412 Shanks Hall
drad@vt.edu

In this seminar the plot's the thing: our topic will be the dialogue between page and stage, which we will follow through classic (and not-so-classic) works in restoration romance, rogue biography, sentimental tragedy, comedy of manners, gothic fiction and gothic drama. Course requirements include an oral presentation, a seminar paper, and a relish for outrageous story-telling.
